FAQs
What is RESCET™?
RESCET™—Relational Enquiry Synthesising Cross-disciplinary Expertise for Transformation— is a unique form of mediation designed to help individuals make pivotal relational decisions through curiosity, vulnerability, and the development of genuine empathy and insight.
How is RESCET™ different from traditional mediation or therapy?
Traditional mediation resolves legal disputes; therapy addresses mental health. RESCET™ expands the purpose of mediation beyond winning or settling into achieving the best possible outcome for the people involved and impacted. While informed by systemic and relational theory, it is not a form of mental health treatment.
Who is RESCET™ for?
RESCET™ is for couples at a turning point: when a relationship can no longer continue as it is and decisions must be made. It serves those seeking a decisive, humane alternative to protracted litigation.
What happens during a RESCET™?
The process is carefully planned and fully bespoke, unfolding over a single day of up to 11 hours. It includes periods of honest reflection and guided negotiation, supported by interdisciplinary practices that help participants remain in their best mindset. Two mediators guide and facilitate the entire process. The goal is to reach truthful understanding, from which resolution naturally follows.
Is RESCET™ confidential?
Yes. RESCET™ is a form of mediation governed by Florida’s Mediation Confidentiality and Privilege Act (Fla. Stat. §44.401–44.406). All communications made during mediation are confidential and privileged under Florida law. Nothing said or shared in the process may be disclosed or used in court, except in the narrow circumstances allowed by statute. This confidentiality allows participants to speak freely and work toward resolution without fear of legal exposure or public record.
How should we prepare?
Prior to your RESCET™, each participant completes the intake forms, which clarify intentions, goals, and emotional readiness. We ask that both parties abstain from alcohol for several days prior to the session and come rested, present, and willing to engage.
What outcomes can we expect?
Some couples leave with a renewed vision for their relationship, while others leave with a clear and respectful plan to part. All participants gain a deeper understanding of themselves and one another, along with a roadmap for what comes next. Because RESCET™ is a form of mediation governed by Florida law, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Is follow-up available?
Yes. Integration sessions and referrals to trusted professionals are offered to support stability and follow-through.
How much does RESCET™ cost?
A full RESCET™ immersion is $25,000. This includes the preparatory phase, the full-day mediation guided by two professionals, and detailed documentation of the day’s outcomes. Optional post-session integration support is available separately.
Why does RESCET™ cost so much?
RESCET™ is a highly customized process built around each individual relationship. Each RESCET™ takes two professionals dozens of hours to prepare, plan and facilitate.
RESCET™ offers a more humane, efficient, and transparent path than protracted and costly litigation: one that prioritizes privacy, dignity, and relationships themselves.
*If the price feels out of reach but you feel RESCET™ is right for you, let us know. In select cases, depending on circumstances and availability, we may be able to help.
Is RESCET™ right for us?
RESCET™ is designed for couples at a decisive crossroads: when communication has broken down, but both parties are still willing to engage with honesty and respect. It is most effective for partners seeking resolution without the emotional or financial devastation of litigation, and for those who value clarity, structure, and privacy.
The process serves couples considering separation, reconciliation, or major relational change, including those navigating the end of a marriage, redefining co-parenting, or facing long-standing impasses.
What if my partner is not ready to end the marriage?
That’s completely normal. Many couples arrive at RESCET™ with one partner feeling certain and the other uncertain about ending the relationship. The process does not require agreement about outcomes, only a shared willingness to participate in good faith.
